Google API disclosure
Easy App Mail’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The permission we ask for
When you connect a Gmail account, Easy App Mail Launcher asks Google for one permission: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.modify. The App also receives your Google account’s email address so it knows which account you linked. It does not request access to Google contacts, calendar, Drive or any other Google data.
Why the App needs it
| What you do in the App | Gmail API used |
|---|---|
| See your inbox, labels, messages and attachments | profile, labels, messages and attachments (read) |
| Send, reply and forward | messages.send |
| Save, edit, send or discard drafts | drafts (create, update, list, send, delete) |
| Mark read or unread, archive, label, or move to Trash | messages.modify and batchModify |
A read-only permission would not let the App send mail, save drafts or archive messages, which is why it needs gmail.modify. The App never permanently deletes your messages. Deleted messages go to Gmail’s Trash.
How Gmail data is handled
- The App talks to the Gmail API directly from your phone. Messages are stored only in the App’s private storage on your phone and are not uploaded to our servers.
- Gmail data is used only to provide the email features you see in the App.
- We do not sell Gmail data, and we never use it to serve ads, including retargeting or personalised or interest-based ads.
- We do not transfer Gmail data to others, except as needed to provide those features, for security purposes, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
- People do not read your Gmail data, unless you give us permission for specific messages, it is needed for security purposes such as investigating abuse, it is required by law, or it is aggregated and anonymised for internal operations.
- Gmail data is not used to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.
Removing access
Sign out of the account in the App, then use Clear cache in mail settings to remove saved message text. To revoke the App’s access entirely, visit your Google Account permissions page. Uninstalling the App deletes everything it stored on your phone.
